I can't help but share another Valley Maker track, after having fallen in love with their entire album over the past month or so.
"Pretty Little Life Form" is an extraordinarily beautiful song which tugs at my heartstrings with every slow, emotionally charged word songwriter Austin Crane utters.
Simple, literal lyrics twist and turn amidst the acoustic guitar, yearning harmonies showcasing unadorned emotion, with the pondering drumbeat setting the pace, and allowing the listener to fully feel the weight of every note, emotion and word.
Nothing rushed, no idea left to hurry past -- it's a beautiful journey into the heart and soul of the Valley Maker project, who seems as if they can draw anyone into a glorious depressive state.
Have a listen to the whole When I Was A Child album, and be sure to keep updated with them on Facebook and SoundCloud.
