Why do we like this?
Lately, I've been abusing the Nu Disco: Best of 2012 playlist, refusing to acknowledge the existence of other music; maybe it's because I really want to stay in the imaginary tropical rave I'm been pretending to be in. Fortunately, this remix by Joel Hood of Tythe's "Totem Poles" fits perfectly into my fantasy paradise.
Joel layers incandescent textures and surprise moments into his production, wavering between the sound of reality and the sound of freedom.
For more, check out his subtly electrifying remix of Astronauts etc.'s "Mystery Colours" and a new remix of Phoenix's "Trying To Be Cool." Find even more from Tythe on SoundCloud, including his debut single "Careless Woman," the B-side of which is "Totem Poles."
