The Irish indie rock band Two Door Cinema Club recently played to a sold-out house at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA, and they did not disappoint. I would bet you that any and all casual concert attendees were converted into true believers by the end of the show.
Such was the case for myself after seeing them give one of the most memorable sets at Coachella this year. All of the guys were decked out in suits looking slick and professional while igniting the crowd into a dancing frenzy from the very first track.
Nothing much has changed since then; they fired through tracks from both albums, Tourist History and Beacon, keeping the attentive crowd bubbly.
On a side note, St. Lucia and Peace opened for Two Door Cinema Club, providing great support and getting the crowd locked and loaded. While I don't typically listen to Two Door Cinema Club at home or on my headphones, I will see them live any chance I get. All-in-all, the show was the bees knees.
Oh, and regarding the hefty little remix here -- it was provided by Danny Choi, aka Ghost Loft, who has been putting out some quality chilled out electronic tunes for a while now (check out a prime example here). Ghost Loft's remix of Two Door Cinema Club's "Handshake" took the cake for this review.
