Why do we like this?
Brooklyn three-piece Twin Wave has been (excuse the pun) making waves over the past couple of years with their stylish sound, blending dream pop and 80s-inflected rock to knockout effect.
After the storming success of their last single “Matador,” the group is back with “Roll With It,” a powerful ode to grief.
An understated but affecting vocal performance from lead singer Nick Williams (who at times could be mistaken for Sting) is the centerpiece of this gloriously gloomy track - full of rolling drums and bright synth-lines which recalling “Running Up That Hill”-era Kate Bush or the more recent output of Wild Beasts - which can only be a good thing.
