Twin Caverns is a Sydney two-piece that have been on my radar since the end of last year. The duo, consisting of Michael Macias and Louise Millar, are creating really soulful, downtempo guitar-infused electronic with an honest, enchanting depth to it. Over the past few months, they've scored opening slots for the likes of Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Willow Beats, The Kite String Tangle, and Thief.
Every track they've released so far has really hit the right spot for me – gorgeous vocals, emotive rhythms, and an ever-present underlying sensuality. Their latest single “Drown” was released today, and I'm excited to share it here.
Opening with breathy guitar notes and simple chords, Louise Millar's pristine vocals blow me away. Her tone is so rich, so golden. Fluidly traipsing between crystalline high notes and a husky, sultry low range, it's nothing short of stunning.
There's a sparse simplicity to this track that allows each layer to really stand out. The ethereal guitar loops and echoed beats create a captivating atmosphere from start to finish.
Twin Caverns will be releasing their debut EP later this year. I highly recommend listening to it as soon as you can.
