This week French act TSHEGUE released the film clip for their striking a single "Muanapoto."
An electrifying explosion of African rhythms, tribal pop and pummelling percussion, "Muanapoto" is one hell of a groovy tune.
Fronted by French-Congolese singer Faty Sy Savenet and Paris born Nicolas Dacunha, TSHEGUE merge African culture with French pop soundscapes, with "Muanapoto" the standout track from the duo's 2017 EP Survivor.
Having performed at the Great Escape to rave reviews last month, TSHEGUE have just completed the new video for "Muanapoto". Based on Faty's experiences emigrating to Paris from her native Democratic Republic of Congo aged 8, it tells the tale of a young "deaf and mute girl trying to negotiate her way out of a world of silence.."
Exciting things are set to come from TSHEGUE later this year so be sure to keep an ear out for some new tunes.
