Brighton trio True Noir has recently released new single "Creation," and it's a wonderful offering of punchy indie rock, fronted by Megan Rees' booming vocals.
There's something that stands out about this track - while the backbone of the single is that nostalgic simplicity of 90s rock (the press release compared them to Placebo), there's enough oomph and vitality that it's more than a basic throwback track.
Sitting just over the two-and-a-half minute mark, this track says and does a lot in such a short space of time. Thundering drums and a really catchy, powerful vocal melody create a strong atmosphere, while the guitars chug along, filling up every empty space in between.
These guys have a cool sound, and I'm looking forward to hearing it develop into something that they can really call their own.
