Are you familiar with mutant 50's pop? You're NOT?! Oh, well do I have a treat for you.
Trudy And The Romance are the Liverpool indie rock outfit behind "He Sings," the dizzying lo-fi single saturated with doo-wop inspired melodies and woozy growls courtesy of Oliver Taylor. Tumbling guitar notes are punctuated by Brad Mullins's crashing percussion while Lewis Rollinson keeps the stumbling rhythm on bass.
It's idiosyncratic with a lovely sense of unease to it. If the idea of a grittier Dear And The Headlights appeals to you, you'll love this artist. Tempo changes and garage rock sensibilities wash you back and forth in a stumbling and beautifully gauche dance, and it's nothing short of fantastic.
Trudy And The Romance have a truly individual sound. Get your mutant 50's pop education here.
