Why do we like this?

Amsterdam native Mr Mendel is a bit of a legend when it comes to re-edits, with new versions of Idris Muhammed, Minnie Ripperton, and James Brown all in his catalogue.

The best is this re-edit of Brazilian legends Trio Ternura's "A Gira." With support coming from king of all things Brazilian Gilles Peterson, you know it's a good'un.

Mr Mendel originally gave this one out for free on SoundCloud. Although the download has unfortunately expired, this one's around if you dig deep enough online.
