In 2012, Trails And Ways dropped a number of excellent covers and original tracks, from the distinctive "Nunca" to a beautiful version of Miguel's "Sure Thing." It should be unsurprising then, that they've dropped an 8-track remix EP entitled Detornar-se before even releasing a debut album (which we can expect later this year).
The title of their EP means "to unmake" in Portuguese. This makes quite a bit of sense, not only for their album, but also because sometimes an artist has to deconstruct before creating their next successful piece. In this case, it's other musicians who organically did the un-making, yet the collection still allows us to see highlighted moments of their original intent along with endless possibilities for future sound.
I would call Wallpaper.'s remix of "Mtn Tune" bossanova dream dance; it's like if future garage decided to originate from Brazil, and met indie pop and EDM at an awesome house party.. . or something like that.
