Why do we like this?

Israeli singer Totemo possesses the kind of hushed vocal ability that is as delicate as it is darkly seductive.

“Host,” taken from the Tel Aviv-based artist’s upcoming November EP, Heavy As My Dreams, is an exquisite interplay of spatial clicks, creaks, and masterfully crafted samples, interspersed with minimalist melodies that call to mind The xx.

Already gaining traction in the blogosphere, I’m marking Totemo as one to watch.
