The more I learn about the Torrejón, the more intrigued I become. Here's the story so far: they're a duo consisting of brothers Charlie and Jamie Roadman, and they've just released their eponymous debut EP. It's inspired by "modern history, politics, war, and enlightenment."
"The Art Of Emptiness" follows George W. Bush's painting habit post-office and is accompanied by an animated video. Directed by Jay Hollinsworth, it depicts said ex-president buying supplies and painting in his backyard.
His propensity for painting is nowhere near as interesting as what he's shown painting. At the very end, he creates a buddhist ensō- a single stroke circle meant, in this case, to represent "the void."
An artist with a point of view, Torrejón's debut encompasses all manner of issues. Take a look at the track list and video below and check out their debut EP on Spotify or iTunes.
