Why do we like this?

To be honest, I was never a die-hard fan of Toro y Moi. It's not that I don't like his music. In fact, I believe it's kind of a crime to say you simply "don't like" anything that someone as talented as Chaz makes. It's just that I never took the time to actually get to know him better, musically.

Until now.

I'm not even sure if you can call this "a track from the upcoming album," but either way, "That Instead of This" is an absolute treasure and, as Jason wrote a few weeks ago, it truly does sound "original and unexpected." Oh, and that drop? A-ma-zing.

Toro y Moi is daring, and that's exactly what the music industry needs right now.
