Tori Kelly has been around for a while by virtue of YouTube and American Idol Season 9 notoriety. She's even released a couple of EPs. But it's only now that she's emerging as a potential force to be reckoned with on a grander scale.
This 22-year-old is quite the hodgepodge, and I like it. She's pop and soul, mainstream and indie, a technique-focused vocalist and singer-songwriter. She even sounds polished in her rawness, if that makes sense. Contradictions galore.
Maybe you've heard her first single "Nobody Love," which has been climbing the charts as of late, but I prefer,"Unbreakable Smile," her smooth R&B feel-good bop track. It's her second single off her upcoming debut album. How does one speak, much less sing, that many words per minute? Shrug.
Her debut album, Unbreakable Smile, is available June 23, 2015.
