I always feel a contradicting combination of incredible excitement and dread when I dive into my emails after being away. After five days "out of the office" this week, I've returned, and so have those mixed feelings. I came back to a backlog of epic proportions, with so much incredible music sitting (kind of) patiently in my inbox.
Usually, the most difficult part is picking the track I'm going to review first, and this has been the hardest occasion to date. This time around, it's Byron Bay natives Tora who take that honor with their latest jam, "Overcome." A collaboration with fellow Byron act Potato Potato, this track is an absolute gem -- fun and sunny while still showing off a level of sophistication not often found in artists of this tender age.
Tora has actually built up a pretty solid catalogue over their short tenure, with their last single "Calming Her" capping off their debut EP (2013). Check out all their tunes on the band's SoundCloud.
