Just over a month back, we brought you "Overcome", the gorgeous single from Byron Bay natives Tora (featuring Potato Potato). Luckily, the generous lads haven't made us wait for too long for its follow-up, with a new jam released just in time for their appearance at Splendour in the Grass this coming weekend (which just happens to be held in their home town).
For anyone who's ever visited Byron Bay, I'm sure you'll agree that "Eat the Sun" is a pretty good musical representation of the coastal town. The popular holiday destination is a great place to unwind, and this is exactly what Tora have put together here in musical form. Chilled, fluid beats are joined with drifting vocals to begin the track, and this formula floats along nicely for the majority of the song. But, things get really interesting toward the end as the guys surprise the listener with a stunning change of tempo, adding sparkling guitar riffs to top this brilliance off. What a tune.
For anyone attending Splendour in the Grass, Tora plays at the Amphitheatre stage at 12pm on Saturday. Make sure to get down to watch these talented chaps do their thing.
