LA-based producer TOKiMONSTA has teamed up with hip-hop's man of the moment, Anderson .Paak, and fellow producer KRNE, for one of the best collaborations of the year so far.
It's really cool to hear the trio combine their unique styles, and genres, to create what kind of sounds like a more melodic, less abrasive interpretation of trap. Blending her intricate production with .Paak's unique, utterly gorgeous tone and flow, and KRNE's thumping synth inflections, "Pull It Down" is a wild ride.
This is the first track we've heard from TOKiMONSTA's upcoming mini-album titled Fovere, set for release on March 4 via her own imprint Young Art Records.
“Fovere is my most complete work to date," she says. "By complete I mean it's a body of work that is whole and that I'm proud of. It represents my life at the time it was being made - a point where a lot of transitions were being made and I had the biggest personal growth spurt.
"Fovere essentially means, ‘to cherish’ in Latin. To cherish everything - good, bad, light and dark.”
