Why do we like this?
Times New Roman is a Detroit-bred Boston College student who's making a splash on campus with his self-produced demo titled Satisfaction. The independent project is a combination of Motown soul, contemporary hip-hop, and indie electronic reminiscent of big-namers such as Chris Cab, Mayer Hawthorne, and G-Eazy.
TNR, aka William Bolton, builds his beats with samples as well as a guitar, bass, and variety of synths. The soulful vocals over a smooth beat on the featured single "Passion" make for some very nice vibes.
I'll definitely be keeping an ear out, and am excited to see what's next from Times New Roman.
