Ras_G is the calm and weeded giant among the Brainfeeder collective. His one-bar loops and deep bass are transformative. Live, his show is known to blow out speakers world-wide and pose the question to his audience: "Can I take anymore bass?" His various recorded projects have been exploration of the ways organized, and at times disorganized, sound can create different feels, evoke certain textures and guide the listening experience.
For this selection, he deconstructs Thundercat's "Daylight" track, off last year's much heralded
Golden Age of Apocalypse, and loops up key parts, adds his signature growling basslines and of course, the airhorn. Los Angeles has the juice at the moment, evidently.
