Thrupence, also know as Melbourne-based producer Jack Vanzat, is in every way an artist. Not only does he make music, he’s also a designer and an illustrator.
His holistic artistry is evident in his music – it's rich, ambient, smooth, layered, and colorful. If you need further proof of Jack's artistic creds, take note of the original artwork that complements his music and is featured all over his Facebook page.
"Silk" is the second track to be released from Jack’s upcoming album Lessons. Last month we got a first taste of the upcoming album via the wonderful vocal blues sample on “Don’t You Mind”.
"Silk" gives us something different yet again – deep bass lines contrasted against layers of high-pitched strings. I hear a distinct oriental flavor in this track that gives "Silk" a wonderful Zen-like and meditative quality.
Watch for Lessons on November 14 via Future Classic. Pre-order is available here.
