Why do we like this?

California-based producer Derek Diaz AKA the44thfloor is making some vibing hip-hop influenced beats, and I am all for it.

"s o p h i c" is his third official single, awash with sampled vocals, clean beats, and relaxed, soulful keys. Inspired by the fresh, positive, and feel-good nature of summer, the track is the perfect beat soundtrack to a chilled afternoon. 

Says Derek about his motivations behind "s o p h i c":
