The xx Tides (Dixon Remix)

The xx have always been notable for their excellent tastes - especially in the field of electronic music. We were unsurprised to hear that the trio had asked Berlin label Innervisions to commission a three-track remix EP of songs from Coexist.

Âme, Dixon and Marcus Worgull each remix a respective track, to predictably fruitful results.

The pick of the bunch for us is Dixon's remix, which extends "Tides" out into an eight minute masterpiece, which we've seen being described as posh trance. They meant that in the best of possible ways though, with Dixon channeling the euphoria of trance into a much more contemporary form.
