Why do we like this?
It's the piano. It's the quietly confident guitar. It's The xx's lush vocals. And it's everything in between. Starkly beautiful at first listen, there is something that calls to people to remix The xx, probably intangible but definitely compelling.
Kasper Bjørke just released a re-edit of The xx's "Swept Away" which is just as intoxicating as the group themselves. With a slow and intriguing start, Bjørke celebrates the characteristics that make the UK group so lovely - basic, simple, clean notes entangled in a deep sense of depravation. Per his explanation, Bjørke's re-edited out of respect for the original, which I'm sure we can all comprehend.
