The xx Reunion (Mistakes Are Ok Remix)

Following a successful album, it's not exactly unusual to see bands releasing a remix album -- in effect, a version of each original track by someone else. The xx's strategy, however, has been very different.

Instead, the London trio have asked some of their favorite labels to commission mini-remix EPs, with just a selection of album tracks re-worked by some of the band's favorite artists.

First up was the Innervisions label, and now it's John Talabot's Hivern label. One of the highlights comes from relative newcomer Mistakes Are Ok, who turns in a deep six minute take of "Reunion," with a brooding bassline and some Balearic touches that give away the Hivern roots.
