Alchemy, the process of turning one thing into another. It harnesses transformation, creation, and combination, and leaves us with an end product to be desired.
It can be equated to the feeling that coalesces, the moment all our hard work comes to fruition. We work away, long, hard hours, on something we long to see come to life, and in one clear moment, it's all there. For a split second, we forget the time invested and it feels like one magical moment, where previously there was nothing and now there is something.
The xx and Jamie xx (a member of The xx) make me feel like that all the time. They are the alchemists. One moment I'm simply walking down the street, the next I'm inside a world of mellifluous sounds that move, bend and shape the 'reality' around me.
