Why do we like this?
I knew I was going to post this track before I even listened to it -- that's how much confidence I have in Maya Jane Coles at the moment. From her minty Easier To Hide EP to collaborations with Karin Park and her BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, this chick is on fire right meow.
Now she is remixing The xx's "Fiction," one of my favorites from the Coexist album, and it definitely didn't let me down. Adding her dark and deep house elements to the already dark and minimalist style of The xx simply works. Not only does it work, but the remix is better than the original. There, I said it.
Be sure to put this hawt chick on your radar -- she's a game changer.
