This track is really taking me to a happy place. Sure, we didn't speak very highly of the group back in 2009, but you know, a lot can change in six years.
Personally, I think they sound more refined in 2015, and I dig how they've embraced that ethereal quality — the production resembling more of a U2 treatment than some sort of awful hybrid of bad electronic fighting African pop. I mean, this sound suits them— makes them feel more wise and worldly.
But I'm not accustomed to analyzing this type of music, I just know that I like it and for some reason it's taking me back to 1995 when things were just all sunshine, smiles, and dressing like Gwen Stefani. I'm painting on my cat eyes and donning a bright yellow halter in my mind, running through the gates of Warped Tour when reggae was emulated and incorporated into almost every band. 1995... never thought I'd look back on it with longing.
Anyway, The Very Best has a video for this track if you'd like to check it out. Enjoy!
