Why do we like this?
One of the best hip-hop performances I saw last year was from Flatbush duo The Underachievers, so I'm stoked the New Yorkers are back with, "Gotham Nights," their first piece of new music for 2017.
Taken from their forthcoming Renaissance project, "Gotham Nights" has a laid-back feel, reminding me of the sounds of the subway and the cultural melting pot that is New York City.
Both AKTHESAVIOR and Issa Gold deliver scintillating verses over the piano and horn sampling beat, helping keep the old school vibe of 90s hip-hop pioneers well and truly alive in the age of auto-tune and mumble rappers.
