Why do we like this?
I believe this is the very first time that I have had to tag the electric violin in one of my posts, but this definitely won't be the last time. The Twoks is Xani Kolac and Mark Leahy, an electric violinist and drummer (respectively) from Melbourne who craft dance music without the use of a laptop or synths.
As crazy as that may seem, it's a combination that clearly works. Their brand new single "First Light" is a testament to their uncomplicated style. I remember way back when Ra Ra Riot was still using violins in their production and it made everything seem so heartfelt and pure. The same can be said about The Twoks today.
"First Light" will be released on iTunes and Bandcamp on February 26, 2014 accompanied by a string (pun intended) of shows around the country.
