For being a short 1:49, "Golden Girl" sure brings an explosive energy that has you wanting more.
Starting their musical journey as The Tazers in 2016, South African group mentally brings me back to ~2010, when acts like Franz Ferdinand and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club were tearing up the scene. Specializing in the perfect amount of distortion, fuzzy vocals & guitar riffs, and fast-paced tempo that'll inspire you to idk, talk back to your mom or break the law or something.
In fact, this type of garage rock is something I cherish, and in this current musical economy of saturated mumble rap or soft indie, The Tazers are a breath of fresh air. I was suffocating for a bit here. I highly recommend listening to their 2017 album, Love Machine, as it offers a larger spectrum into their capabilities as a band.
I'm hoping "Golden Girl" is a foreshadowing to more music being released soon by the Tazers :)
