I think Bob Dylan lovers can all get on board with The Tallest Man On Earth with little to no hesitation. With a growl in his voice and passion in his lyrics, Kristian Matsson wields an acoustic guitar like a shotgun and sings with the kind of conviction that most artists shy away from. So I think that any new work from him is something to get excited about. "Weather of the Killing Kind" is a previously unreleased single, available for free thanks to the Adult Swim Singles Program.
Lyrically beautiful and classically stripped down, the track is more restrained than many that we've seen from Matsson "” he goes easy on his guitar, delicately picking at notes rather than strumming with vigor. But the growl is there, giving the lovely versus a keening quality. Now if only we could get another full-length Tallest Man album... talk about something to celebrate.
