Sounds like:
Slowdance,
Shangri-Las,
The Go-Gos
Why do we like this?
Here's a new obsession for you Shufflers! Japan's The Suzan are a four-piece female group taking the music scene by storm with their refreshingly delightful jungle synth pop tunes. If only it were summer here in the U.S.!
Their single "Come Come" is a trippy take on vibrant indie pop, that includes a deep and defined tempo, a funky outspoken bass, hovering synths, super catchy lyrics and melodies, and even some bird sounds. These girls have a wonderfully tasteful take on melding genres together to represent a very lovable sound of their own. Even their other tracks project a high energy, danceable vibe that can only emit an uplifting and carefree feelings towards anyone who's listening.
Sure, their debut LP, Golden Week For The Poco Poco Beat, was released in November 2010, but we'll all finally catch up together. Better late than never!
If you live in or near NYC then I highly suggest you catch The Suzan's show on February 22 at Littlefield before they leave the states. I have a feeling they won't be playing smaller venues for very long.
