Why do we like this?

11 years ago, The Strokes released Is This It. It was the New York-based band's debut album release, and by Jove did it take the world by storm.

The band's success was rooted heavily in word of mouth. In the US, it only sold 16,000 copies in the first week. Then the band played appeared on Saturday Night Live. From that point on, The Strokes were impossible to avoid.
