For those of you unfamiliar with dubstep, the genre emerged sometime this decade as a hybrid of multiple British dance and hip-hop genres including garage, two-step, grime, and drum and bass. The result usually produces a shuffly beat with heavy, wobbly bass that isn't particularly great to dance to, but makes for a good cerebral listening experience for the bedroom. After only a few years since its conception, dubstep is slowly filtering throughout
the electronic music world, and it's influence is slowly peaking towards the mainstream.
The two-step rhythm in The Streets' "Blinded by the Lights" makes the song a perfect candidate for a dubstep remix. This new Nero remix doesn't actually change much from the original, but the ground shaking bass and the trippy delay on the vocals makes for an entirely different listening experience, which is exactly what a good remix should do. Some moments are absolutely flooring. Find some good speakers or some good headphones, sit back, maybe light up a bit, and treat yourself to this bass assault.
