Why do we like this?
Here's a nice, droney psychedelic ballad for your listening pleasure. The Stargazer Lilies' single "We Are The Dreamers" may make your head spin into beautiful, cathartic oblivion.
Throughout this track, there are dark instrumental accents that slither below the breathy, angelic vocals. The ever-present dissonant chords draw a melancholy and forlornness from the listener. But between the despair and anguish, there's a purgative effect brought to life through the wailing electric guitar solo. This is the type of song that is akin to a revolutionary period, where one finds strength and gusto to conquer the dark side. And as dark as this song may initially sound, I find it to be refreshing and uplifting.
The Stargazer Lilies will be releasing their debut LP, We Are The Dreamers, on September 10. I sure hope it's as wonderfully heavy as this song.
