Why do we like this?
In honor of the 10th anniversary of San Francisco's Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, we figured we'd feature an artist who won't actually be playing at said festival. Why? Because 1) they have awesome bluegrass covers of indie artists and 2) we're protesting the fact that they should be playing the Bluegrass Festival. Were they invited? Possibly. Did they decline? Possibly, but let's be realistic folks: they probably weren't invited. And their music kicks ass.
Iron Horse is from Killen, Alabama. They've garnered well-deserved notability for their cover albums, particularly their treatment of Metallica's heavy metal arsenal. Other tribute albums include one to Ozzy Osbourne, another to Led Zeppelin, and obviously one each for The Shins and Modest Mouse (tracks of which are featured today).
