As weeks go by in isolation, I can feel time slip away, much like how the Regrettes describe in this quarantine-romance song that ponders how to spend your day, and doing so with the person you love.
Passion bleeds through the band’s acoustic, stripped-back energy and backup singing that melts into the chords. It’s nothing like their other dance-able punk songs “California Friends” and “Seashore” that are total garage rock jams. This sweet tune acts like an interlude, giving listeners a break from the badass rock and a chance to mellow out for a moment. (Don’t get me wrong, this song is badass too, just in a different way.)
The band worked on this song the same way most of us are getting work done nowadays: remotely. In a tweetannouncing the track, lead vocalist Lydia Night said each of the musicians recorded their part at home while in quarantine.
