Why do we like this?

Hi everyone. Today I was going to post the new song "How Deep is Your Love" by The Rapture. But while I was listening to it again, a thought crossed my mind: this track actually sucks. Why is everyone going gaga for it?

My hypothesis is that it's been so long since the band released a new track, everyone has simply forgotten what got The Rapture so popular in the first place. And frankly, it wasn't shit like this new song. It was songs like "House of Jealous Lovers" -- songs with that raw, energetic sound a la Refused, Death From Above 1979 and earlier LCD Soundsystem. Good thing old songs don't expire.
