The Radio Dept. really knows how to sooth the spirit. I've been listening to their latest EP
Never Follow Suit for about a month now and still haven't tired of it. I'm a new passenger on board The Radio Dept bandwagon, and don't think I'll be jumping ship anytime soon.
It makes sense that these guys are from Stockholm; seems like Sweden is always giving us something fresh to digest.
Never Follow Suit is ethereal and extremely easy on the ears. The soft dreamy vocals of Johan Duncanson act as your guide as you're carried along down the fluid river of sound that is The Radio Dept. Each song on this EP is cohesive with the next, but they've managed to make each track discretely enjoyable at the same time. Who doesn't want music like this tucked away in their library somewhere?
The Radio Dept. has promised to deliver us with
Passive Aggressive: Singles 2002-2010 out January 25 on Labrador Records. Also, there's a US tour to follow, dates and locales have already been posted on
their MySpace so be sure to check that as well. Enjoy!
