Since we shared The Preatures single "Take a Card" back in April, the Sydney band has gone through a couple of big changes. First, they changed their name (from "The Preachers"), and then they signed a huge, five-album deal with Mercury Records. This is all leading up to the anticipated release of their Shaking Hands EP release (due out October 18) - which will also feature their brand new single, "Pale Rider."
The five-piece has always had a smoldering sound, but this track is ridiculous. Vocalist Isabella Manfredi's smoky, powerful tones again dominate this track. Also the name of a Clint Eastwood Western, "Pale Rider" has a real country skew to it, complete with snarling guitar riffs and a stripped-back rhythm section.
This is a band which can do no wrong, recently thrilling the industry at the BigSound conference in Brisbane. "Pale Rider" has been released with an accompanying video, and is a great lead-up to their EP release.
