Fans must love it when an artist or musician they love listens to them. New York indie pop connoisseurs The Pains of Being Pure At Heart’s Kip Berman had recorded a demo titled “Hell.” When the kids wanted a real version of the track, he decided to head into the studio and record it.
But along with the recording came a recording of “Laid” by James. The track features the vocals of Jen Goma (of A Sunny Day in Glasgow) who also sang on their last album. The track shows the band’s growth over the time; you can hear the layers of shimmering guitars, warm percussion, and, of course, Goma’s powerful vocals all work together in unison.
The track is going to appear on their upcoming Hell EP which will be released on their own label Painbow on Nov. 13. The three-track EP also contains a cover of Felt’s “Ballad of The Band” and new original track “Hell.”
