Why do we like this?
I seriously love The Notwist. I think I hammered that home in my last post about their upcoming album Close To The Glass, but this single absolutely backs up my case.
"Kong" is unlike anything the band has ever released int he past. While they're defining it as krautrock, it's hard to look at this as anything but good old-fashioned indie surf punk rock.
Okay, admittedly there are a few different genres at work here, but it's not what I would have expected from The Notwist. For context: they're a really old band that have tackled sounds ranging from death metal to The Postal Service.
