Why do we like this?
80s-influenced California group The New Division return with the pulsating "Stockholm," the first taste of their sophomore album Together We Shine. Due out in March, the album promises to continue the band's hybrid sound of indie rock and electronica, and if "Stockholm" is anything to go by, the album will be a winner.
There's a real Cut Copy meets New Order feel to "Stockholm," with its wonderful driving synth presence, rollicking percussion, and frontman John Kunkel's understated vocals. Released by Division 87 Records, "Stockholm" is a brilliant tune that I can't stop playing.
These guys are definitely ones to watch going forward in 2014.
