Why do we like this?
It's original, alright. I haven't heard something quite like The New Division for a very long time - I honestly can't narrow them down to one genre. The L.A. four piece have just released their latest EP Night Escape, a canvas for dreamy pop. They released their debut album Shadows about a year ago and now, it surely seems that they are gearing up for a second full-length.
"Pride" stays true to their brooding chillwave style. If MGMT were a little bit older and a little bit wiser, this is exactly how I would picture them to sound. The powerful anthemic synths that are constantly on loop coupled with the many blissful dreamy moments works too perfection, there's nothing quite like it!
There are three other tracks released on the EP, so if you're in need of some relaxation, The New Division has got you covered.
