Sounds like: Interpol, Arcade Fire
Why do we like this?

Hey, what's this? A new song from The National!

"Demons" is the first peak we're getting of their upcoming album Trouble Will Find Me, which will be their sixth album to date.

I've got pretty high expectations for The National given how many times I've listened to their 2007 album Boxer. And it's not exactly like this is their sophomore album, so you'd think they could avoid a slump.

Unfortunately, "Demons" is a bit uhhh...well, I just can't get it into it. I'd hate to say that's because it's depressing (no shit, that's The National's "thing"). But I was just perhaps hoping for a little more modern influence to their sound.

Conclusion? It's an interesting listen, but it surely doesn't have me hooked like some of the new songs from equally experienced bands The Strokes and Phoenix.
