I didn't think I'd ever see a cover of The National's "Bloodbuzz Ohio," but I appear to have horrendously misjudged that one. Not only that, but Oh Land's rendition doesn't take the route of acoustic guitars (as so many covers do), but instead introduces full-fledged keyboard, xylophone and little electronic bleeps. I swear I even hear sounds that remind me of the "buzz" a bee would make -- fitting?
The only other cover I can think of comparing to is Mr. Little Jeans' "
The Suburbs," which perfectly captured the essence of the song. Bravo to Oh Land on this one...it's certainly a job well done.
