"Second Try" is the new single from LA-based indie rockers, The Memories. An introspective number about nostalgia, the track has a carefree '90s vibe that reminds me of cracking cans on Venice Beach and soaking up some rays during my early 20's.
Taken from their forthcoming sophomore album, Pickles & Pies, this is another delightful tune written by bassist, Izak Arida. While most won't agree, this one feels a bit like the Presidents Of The United States with a dash of Weezer.
The loose collective of musicians who make up The Memories (founder Rikky "Free Weed" Gage, Izak Arida, Chris "Unkle Funkle" Uehlein, Jimmy "Jerry Rogers" Leslie and longtime collaborator, Colleen Green) have all contributed songwriting credits to the new album with "Second Try," another outstanding composition displaying the band's nonchalant approach to pop. The classic guitar solo at the song's end is also effortless.
Pickles & Pies is set for release May 29.
