The Magician's summer anthem "Sunlight" has undergone a series of remixes in recent weeks, all of which have been undeniably good. First came Darius' version, closely followed by Blonde, and then Watermät. But now, the time has come to pass the wand (see what I did there?) to one of my favorite artists at the moment, Tobtok.
Although following some tough acts, Tobtok has really done the track justice, maintaining the integrity of the original while putting his distinctive tropical/disco spin on it.
The subtle drums at the start are what got me interested, but the strings coming in around 1:30 are what got me hooked. They're incredibly emotive and for some reason make me feel like something really epic is about to happen! That's definitely not a bad way to feel.
The great news is that he is coming to London very soon! Catch him alongside Darius and his pal Oliver Nelson at Brixton Jamm in London on Friday, October 17.
