Why do we like this?
Ohh maaan. Who are these people!? Native Canadians The Luyas are storming the scene and effortlessly demanding everyone's attention. This single, "Too Beautiful To Work," makes it sound like they want it all -- psychedelic, ethereal, pop, indie, experimental, progressive. It's a glitchful heaven!
The song starts off with a fast-paced keyboard and it only progresses from there. The vocals are light and airy with a stop and go effect which quickly turns to flowing, coinciding with the beautiful whirling synth in the background. The drums are eccentric in their own right, but still offer a complimenting array of beats throughout the entirety of the song, no matter how many transitions this song goes through.
"Too Beautiful To Work" is fast and slow, up and down, round and round. There's no slowing The Luyas down.
Be sure to check out their full-length album, also named Too Beautiful To Work. It's haunting and infectious and pretty much a scattered piece of well thought-out art.
