Why do we like this?
Really feeling this track from The Last Skeptik, aka Corin Douieb, a Hackney-based leftfield producer who draws inspiration from the likes of Ol' dirty bastard and J Dilla. Clash called his work "beyond hip-hop," and while the phrase might be a bit enigmatic, it fits the bill to a T.
This tune, off his forthcoming EP I Don't Even Like You, is freshly individual. I'm struck by those spicy little winds popping in and out; it's as if he took yesteryear's UK garage on a desert drug trip. An inspiring style to rejig your Sunday Night Chill playlist.
You can stream the whole EP on SoundCloud. Highly recommend the track "Propulsion," featuring FEMME.
Also, the music video is quite nice. I'll just leave it right here.
